AALIYAH
                 AAaliya
January 16, 1979 - Aug 25, 2001
R&B singer turned actress was killed when her plane crashed as they were leaving the Bahamas after shooting the video for her song “Rock the Boat.” Born in Brooklyn, but raised in Detroit, she got her start in show business by way of “Star Search.” During her senior year in high school she recorded, “One In A Million” which was a major success. While being interviewed for a German newspaper, “Die Zeit” on July, 2001 she eerily predicted her own death: “It is dark in my favorite dream. Someone is following me. I don’t know why. I’m scared. then suddenly I lift off. Far away. How do I feel? As if I am swimming in the air. Free. Weightless. Nobody can reach me. Nobody can touch me. Its’ a wonderful feeling.” Well unfortunately a month later her dream came true. As she and her entourage were leaving Abaco Island, in the Bahamas. The small Cessna 404 enroute to Opa-Locka, Florida took off from Marsh Harbour Airport at approximately 6:50 pm EDT. Just a few minutes after take off, the plane crashed about 200 feet from the runway killing everyone on board with exception to four passengers who were pulled from the wreckage but later died. Despite warnings from the baggage handlers, Aaliyah and her crew insisted on leaving with all their suitcases. I guess clothes are the most important thing in life. According to Gloria Knowles, a spoke person for Abaco Air Ltd. at Marsh Harbour Airport, said that the cause of the crash was due to an overloaded plane. Aaliyah’s coffin was driven through Manhattan in a white horse drawn carriage, usually reserved for royalty. Her lavish funeral was criticized by the press as too showy for an entertainer. Stay tuned for exact directions.....
